New England equaled their top unbeaten stretch from the Brady era as they beat AFC East rivals the New York Jets 27-14 in the NFL

Rookie Henderson shone brightly with three TDs as the Patriots secured an eighth consecutive victory for the first time since star signal-caller Tom Brady's final season with the team in 2019

Quarterback Drake Maye accumulated 281 yards and a touchdown, completing 25 of 34 passes

The win increases the Patriots advantage at the summit of the division as they improved to a 9-2 record, with the Jets at the foot after slipping to a 2-8 mark

The Jets had scored first at Foxborough with QB Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to finish the New York's first possession

But the New England answered in the second period as the rookie scored two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier caught a pass from Maye at the back of the end zone in the middle of the third quarter to extend the lead to 21-7

"It was a key occasion for him rising to the challenge, and it's been great for him to keep earning playing time," Maye said of the rookie. "He aims to be great."

Justin Fields connected with John Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Andy Borregales converted a two kicks in the fourth quarter as the home side closed out the win
